NUVO Lighting 60-7884 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) What bulbs do I need to order with the NUVO 60-7884 Cordello chandelier?
Bulbs are not included. You need four candelabra base (E12) lamps in a Type B shape, rated up to 60W each on 120V. It is an incandescent fixture, so dimming depends entirely on the lamp you choose, not on the fixture.
    2) Can the Cordello chandelier go in a covered porch or a bathroom over a tub?
No. The Cordello 60-7884 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so it is out for covered porches, patios, and any damp-rated spot like a shower or over a tub. For those openings you need a damp or wet rated fixture.
    3) Will a standard ceiling box hold this chandelier?
It weighs 8.38 lbs, which is well inside the 50 lb limit of a fixture-rated ceiling outlet box. It is a ceiling-mount hanging fixture, so the box must be rated to support a luminaire; a plain plastic box used for a smoke detector is not.
    4) Is the NUVO Cordello chandelier safety listed for commercial or multi-family use?
It carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers both US and Canadian requirements, and the fixture is RoHS compliant. Keep in mind it is a dry-location indoor luminaire, so corridors and units yes, exterior or damp areas no.
    5) Can I put LED candelabra lamps in the Cordello 60-7884 instead of incandescent?
The sockets are E12 candelabra, so any E12 LED candle lamp at or below 60W equivalent will thread in. The fixture itself has no driver and no selectable color temperature, so whatever CCT and dimming behavior you want has to come from the lamp, and the dimmer has to be matched to that LED lamp.
    6) What is the Cordello chandelier actually made of, and how does the vintage brass finish read?
Body is steel in a vintage brass finish, with four etched white opal glass shades. The styling is traditional, so it pairs with aged brass or unlacquered brass trim rather than polished modern brass. Only the vintage brass version is offered under part number 60-7884.
    7) Is there a California Prop 65 warning on this NUVO chandelier?
Yes, lead is the listed Prop 65 chemical for the Cordello 60-7884. If you are specifying for a California job, that warning has to carry through to the submittal and the packaging.
    8) How much supply wire comes with the Cordello chandelier for a tall install?
144 inches, that is 12 feet of fixture wire, enough to run the full 51 inch maximum drop with slack for the canopy and splices in the box.
