NUVO Lighting 60-7905 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO Lafayette 60-7905 flush mount be installed in a bathroom or over a shower?
The Lafayette 60-7905 carries a damp location rating and is listed for indoor use, so it works in a bathroom ceiling, a covered porch ceiling, or a laundry room where humidity is present. It is not rated for wet locations, so keep it out of direct spray and off open exterior ceilings exposed to rain. Safety listing is cULus.
    2) What bulb does the Lafayette 60-7905 take, and does it come with one?
It takes a single standard A19 bulb on an E26 medium base, rated to 60W max at 120V. No bulb is included, so order lamps separately. Any standard-base LED A19 in that wattage equivalent drops right in.
    3) How much ceiling space does the 14 inch Lafayette flush mount need, and how far does it hang down?
Plan on a 14 inch diameter footprint with 8.13 inches of drop below the ceiling. That projection matters in low-ceiling hallways, closets, and stairwells, where you want the bottom of the glass clear of head height. It mounts directly to the ceiling box; fixture weight is 4.4 lbs, well within a standard octagon box rating.
    4) Is the Lafayette 60-7905 a true flush mount or a semi-flush drop?
It is a close-to-ceiling flush mount, meaning the canopy sits against the ceiling with no stem or chain. The 8.13 inch overall height is the body of the fixture itself, not a hanging drop. If you need the glass to sit lower off the ceiling for a dining or entry application, you want a semi-flush or pendant instead.
    5) Does the Lafayette 60-7905 offer selectable color temperature?
No. CCT selectable is listed as No because the fixture is an incandescent-technology socket design with no onboard driver or color switch. Color temperature is entirely set by the A19 lamp you choose, which is actually an advantage if you are matching 2700K or 3000K across an existing building.
    6) Does the NUVO Lafayette 60-7905 come with a California Prop 65 warning?
Yes. Lead is identified as a Prop 65 chemical for this fixture, which is standard disclosure for metal lighting components. The fixture is also RoHS compliant, which matters for institutional and government procurement specs.
