NUVO Lighting SF77-157 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO SF77-157 utility ceiling fixture be used outside in an exposed location?
Yes. The SF77-157 carries a Wet location rating and is listed for outdoor use, so it can go on an exposed soffit, porch ceiling, or carport where it sees direct rain. It is cULus safety listed. Mounting is ceiling only, so for a wall-mounted utility light you need a different fixture.
    2) What bulb does the NUVO SF77-157 globe light take, and does one come with it?
It takes a single medium base (E26) A19 lamp rated to a maximum of 60W on 120V. No bulb ships with the fixture, so order lamps separately. If you want LED, any E26 A19 retrofit within the 60W rating will work.
    3) How big is the NUVO SF77-157 ceiling globe, and will it cover a standard round junction box?
The fixture measures 6 inches in diameter and 7.25 inches in height, and weighs 1.73 lbs. The 6 inch canopy diameter covers a typical 4 inch round outlet box opening. Light weight like this means no extra box bracing is needed on a normal fixture-rated ceiling box.
    4) What is the NUVO SF77-157 made of, and how does it hold up on an outdoor ceiling?
Body is aluminum with a black finish and a white glass globe diffuser, one shade over one lamp. Aluminum will not rust the way steel does, which is why this style shows up on exterior soffits, stairwells, and utility spaces in multi-family and commercial buildings.
    5) Does the SF77-157 come in any finish other than black?
Black is the only finish offered on the SF77-157, paired with the white glass globe. If a property is standardizing corridors or soffits on one look, this SKU gives you one consistent appearance across every opening.
    6) Is there a Prop 65 warning on the NUVO SF77-157?
Yes. Lead is identified as a California Prop 65 chemical for this fixture. The fixture is also RoHS compliant.
