    1) Can the NUVO TH427 track head be used outdoors or in a damp location like a covered patio?
    No. The TH427 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so keep it out of bathrooms with open showers, covered exterior soffits, and unconditioned spaces. For a canopy or patio you need a fixture carrying a damp or wet location rating.
    2) Does the TH427 track head work on 120V line voltage track, and does it need a transformer?
    It runs on 120V, so it mounts on standard line voltage ceiling track with no separate transformer or driver box. The LED driver is built into the head. It is not a low voltage 12V head.
    3) How far does the TH427 track head hang down below the track?
    Extension is 5.75 inches from the track, and the head body measures 3.38 inches long by 2.75 by 2.75 inches. It weighs 1.05 lbs. That projection matters on low ceilings and in corridors where heads can be struck, so check your clearance before ordering a run of them.
    4) Is a 36 degree beam right for accent lighting artwork, or should I use a narrower spot?
    A 36 degree beam is a flood pattern. It is the right choice for washing a retail display, a merchandise shelf, or a feature wall with even coverage. For pinpointing a single painting or a sculpture you want a 15 to 25 degree spot instead, since a 36 degree spread at typical ceiling height will spill well past the frame.
