OATEY 88032 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use the 88032 ABS roof drain on a PVC drain line?
Not directly. The 88032 body is ABS, and ABS cement does not bond ABS to PVC. If the downstream piping is PVC, transition with a mechanical ABS-to-PVC coupling or a proper transition fitting rather than solvent welding the two.
2) Does the Oatey 88032 roof drain come with a dome strainer, or is that ordered separately?
The dome comes with it. Model 88032 ships as a 2 inch ABS roof drain with an ABS dome strainer and a dam collar, so you are not buying the strainer as a separate line item.
3) Is the Oatey 88032 a cast iron style roof drain replacement?
No. The 88032 is a plastic drain, ABS body with an ABS dome, intended for ABS DWV systems. A cast iron roof drain with a clamping ring and cast grate is a different assembly and is not interchangeable with it.
4) What is the Oatey part number and UPC for the 2 inch ABS roof drain with dome and dam collar?
Order it as Oatey 88032. The UPC on the carton is 038753880327.
