The membrane is clamped between the drain base and the upper section, so the pan drains through the weep path rather than over the top of the membrane. If you are setting a one piece preformed PVC or ABS pan liner-free base, you do not need a two part clamping drain.

It takes a 2 inch solvent weld connection, so the drain hub is cemented directly onto 2 inch plastic DWV pipe. The body is ABS, so use ABS cement (or an all-purpose ABS-to-PVC cement if you are transitioning). There are no threads and no caulking, so you cannot spin it after the cement grabs - dry fit for height first.

Not this one. The 42211 is the solvent weld version and only bonds to 2 inch plastic pipe. The 151 drain family is also made in cast iron and plastic with threaded and No-Calk connections, so order the variation that matches the waste line you are tying into rather than adapting at the drain.

A 3-1/4 inch crown ring set ships with the drain, so the clamping ring hardware is in the box. What you still need to supply is the 2 inch ABS pipe, cement, and the hot mop membrane material for the pan itself.
