The Oatey 34084 pan has a 26 inch inside diameter, which covers most 40 and 50 gallon residential tanks since those typically run 20 to 24 inches across the jacket. Measure the outside diameter of your tank jacket, including insulation, and make sure it clears 26 inches before ordering. If the tank is wider, you need a larger pan.

It ships with a PVC adapter sized for 1 inch to 1-1/2 inch PVC, so you can run the pan drain in either size without buying a separate fitting. Solvent weld your drain line to the adapter and pitch it to an approved termination point.
