The Oatey 11889 is sized for 3 inch vent pipe. The collar is self-sealing and slides down over the stack, so there is no caulking needed at the pipe penetration.
2) What roof pitch can this Oatey vent flashing be installed on?
It covers pitch from 0 to 45 degrees, so it works on flat decks through fairly steep shingle roofs without a pitched-specific base.
3) Can I use the Oatey 11889 on a hot-mopped or built-up roof?
No. The thermoplastic base is not rated for hot-mopped or built-up roofing. For those assemblies you need a flashing built for hot asphalt application, not this one.
4) Can I paint the Oatey flashing to match the roof, or seal it with roof cement?
Don't. Petroleum based products and paint should not be applied to the flashing collar or the plastic base, they degrade the thermoplastic. The base comes in black and is meant to be installed as-is.
5) How hot can the Oatey 11889 vent flashing get before it fails?
Rated for 180 degrees F continuous heat and approved for Type B installations. That covers plumbing vent stacks and Type B gas vent penetrations.
6) Is this a metal or plastic roof jack?
