OATEY 33972 3/4" x 6" Copper Pipe Hook – 12 per Bag

Despite the copper name, the 33972 hook works with copper, PVC, CPVC, galvanized, PEX and other piping systems. The sizing refers to the pipe diameter it cradles, 3/4 inch, so any 3/4 inch nominal pipe of those materials sits in it.

No extra fasteners. The 33972 is self-nailing, so the pointed leg drives directly into the wood rafter or joist and the pipe drops into the hook. Nothing else is required to hang the run.

Twelve hooks per bag, model 33972, each sized 3/4 inch by 6 inches. For a long horizontal run under a floor you can gauge quantity off your hanger spacing and buy bags accordingly.

The hook is 3/4 inch by 6 inches, with the 6 inches being the length of the strap body that drives into and spans down from the framing member. That gives you drop and a bend back under the pipe, which is what lets a single piece support the line from a rafter or joist without a separate hanger rod.

A self-nailing hook like the 33972 is for fast overhead support off wood rafters and joists, where you want one driven piece per support point and no threaded rod, strut or screws. If you are fastening to concrete, steel, or need to adjust pipe height or grade after install, a clamp or rod hanger is the better tool. For wood framing and a straight 3/4 inch run, the hook is quicker.

Metal. That matters for two reasons on the job: it drives into framing without snapping, and when you hang copper in contact with a dissimilar metal hanger you should follow your normal practice for isolating the two.
