Oatey 31094 gray cement works on all schedules and classes of PVC pipe and fittings with an interference fit, up to 12 inch diameter on pressure pipe and up to 18 inch on non-pressure pipe. The heavy bodied formula is what gets you into those larger diameters, since it fills the gaps that a regular body cement cannot.

3) How cold can it be to use Oatey 31094 PVC cement outdoors?
The recommended application range for the 31094 gray cement is 40 to 110 degrees F (4 to 43 degrees C). Below 40F you are outside the recommended window, so for cold weather work plan the joints for the warmer part of the day or use a low temperature formulated cement instead.
4) Is this the right cement for CPVC or ABS pipe?
No. Oatey 31094 is a PVC-only solvent cement. ABS drain pipe needs a black ABS cement, and CPVC hot water pipe needs a CPVC-specific cement, typically orange. Using PVC cement on either will not give you a code-compliant joint.

Gray also hides on DWV work where a clear or purple line would show.
