Recovery starts at 194 F (90 C), which is well within the range of any standard electrical heat gun. Keep the gun moving along the tube so the polyolefin recovers evenly rather than scorching in one spot. Once installed, the tubing holds service from -67 F (-55 C) up to 275 F (135 C).
2) Can I use this Panduit heat shrink tubing on a direct burial or outdoor wet splice?
No. The HSTT Series is rated for dry locations only and it is not adhesive lined, so there is no sealant wall to block moisture at the ends. For a buried, submerged, or weather exposed splice you need an adhesive lined (dual wall) tubing instead. HSTT belongs in panels, enclosures, conduit runs, and interior harnesses.
