Paxton Net2, Proximity ISO Cards , 125khz, Printable, White

Net2 proximity ISO cards are for use with the Net2 system. The tokens are supplied in packs of ten or 500. To issue a token the user’s details are entered using the PC software. The token number is then entered by presenting the token to the desktop reader. Once programmed into the software the token is ready for use. Simply present the token to a reader, the access permissions will be instantly looked up and access granted or denied as appropriate. Paxton tokens use Hitag2 technology with proprietary encoding which includes an authentication protocol in the form of a password exchange between the token and the reader. This provides an additional layer of security for your system.

Paxton Access Inc 692-448-US – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will Paxton Net2 proximity ISO cards work with my existing Net2 readers?
These are Net2 tokens running at 125kHz, and they're made for the Net2 system. Paxton uses Hitag2 technology with proprietary encoding, including a password exchange between token and reader, so the card and the reader authenticate each other. That proprietary encoding also means these aren't generic 125kHz cards you can drop onto a third party prox reader.
2) What is the difference between the Paxton Net2 ISO card with magstripe and without?
Two builds of the same 125kHz Net2 card: one with a magnetic stripe on the back, one without. The prox function is identical either way. Order the magstripe version only if the card also has to swipe through something else on site, a canteen till, a parking barrier, a legacy time and attendance reader. If the card is only ever going to be presented to a Net2 reader, the plain version does the same job.
3) How do I add a new Paxton Net2 card to the system for a new tenant or employee?
You enter the user's details in the Net2 PC software, then present the card to a desktop reader to capture its number against that record. Once it's saved, the card works immediately: present it at a door and Net2 looks up the permissions and grants or denies access. That means you need a desktop enrollment reader on the admin PC, not just the door readers, to bring new cards into the system.
4) Will Paxton Net2 ISO cards open doors on a HID or other 125kHz access control system?
No. Even though they run on the common 125kHz band, Paxton tokens use Hitag2 with proprietary encoding and an authentication password exchange with the reader. They're intended for use with the Net2 system. If your building runs a different access platform, these cards won't enroll on it, and you want the credential that matches your own reader head.
5) Do Paxton Net2 ISO cards have a slot or hole for a lanyard or badge clip?
No slot, no hole. The card comes solid, so if your staff carry badges on lanyards or reels you'll need a clamp style badge holder or a slot punch. Punching them yourself is normal practice, just keep the punch away from the antenna area at the card edges.
6) How many Paxton Net2 proximity cards come in a pack?
Packs of 10 or 500. The 10 pack suits topping up a small site or replacing lost credentials; the 500 pack is the one for a new install or a building wide reissue where you're enrolling a whole tenant roster at once.
7) Are these Paxton 125kHz cards the same as a Net2 keyfob, and which should I issue?
Both are Net2 tokens and both are enrolled the same way through the desktop reader. The ISO card is the one to issue when the credential also has to be an ID badge, since it's printable and card sized at 3 25/64 x 2 11/64 inches. A fob makes more sense for contractors or maintenance staff who just need door access on a keyring and never need a photo on it.
