The PDQ SV148 is the Classroom function (ANSI/BHMA F84) of the PDQ SV Series Grade 2 Standard Duty Ball Knob Cylindrical Lock.

The PDQ SV Series is an ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Grade 2 certified ball knob cylindrical lock for commercial applications. It fits standard 161 door prep on doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick, so it can be used to retrofit existing commercial doors.

The SV is offered in a range of keyed and non-keyed functions and keyway options, and is UL/cUL 10C listed for 3-hour fire doors on single doors up to 4'0" x 8'0".

Is the SV knob lock ADA compliant?
No. Its round ball knob design does not meet ADA/ICC A117.1 operable-parts requirements for hardware usable without tight grasping or twisting, so it should be limited to applications where knob hardware is code-permitted.

What is the difference between the SV and the SX?
Both are PDQ ball knob cylindrical locks. The SV is Grade 2 certified and is the lower-traffic option, while the SX is Grade 1 for high-traffic doors.

What door prep does the SV fit?
The SV fits standard 161 door prep on doors 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" thick with a 2-3/4" or 2-3/8" backset, which makes it a straightforward retrofit for existing knob locksets.
