Metallics NS2416 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Metallics NS2416 plate strap meet Buy American and ARRA requirements for a public project?
Metallics lists the NS2416 as both Buy American compliant and ARRA compliant, which is what a government, school, or healthcare procurement file usually needs on a steel nail plate line item.
2) How many nail holes does the NS2416 24-inch plate strap have?
Eight holes are punched in the 24-inch strap, so you have fixing points spread along the full length and can nail it off at each framing member it crosses.
3) Is the Metallics NS2416 plate strap sold individually or only by the box?
It ships as a box of 50 straps, and 50 each is the order minimum, so this is a stocking quantity for an electrical or MRO crib rather than a one-off part.
4) I need a different length or gauge of steel plate strap than the 24-inch NS2416. Is that available?
Metallics makes these nail plates and straps in other sizes, gauges and quantities on request, so if a shorter strap or a heavier gauge suits the run better, that can be sourced rather than settling on the 16 gauge 24-inch version.
5) How much does a box of 50 Metallics NS2416 plate straps weigh?
A box of 50 comes in at 27 pounds, with carton dimensions of 9 x 9 x 6.13 inches. Worth knowing if you are hand-carrying boxes up to a floor or figuring shelf loading in a stockroom.
6) Are exact dimensions on Metallics nail plates and straps held to a tight tolerance?
No. Metallics states that dimensions on all its nail plates and straps are approximate. If you are fitting into a tight pocket, allow for some variation on the nominal 1-1/2 by 24 inch size.
