The Pro-Lok wrap plate has a 2-1/8 inch bore hole on a 2-3/4 inch backset, so it drops over a standard commercial key-in-knob or deadbolt prep without redrilling. If your door was bored on a 2-3/8 inch backset, the hole will not line up and you need a plate cut for that backset instead.
2) My tenant's door was kicked in around the knob. Can I repair it without replacing the whole door?
That is what this wrap plate is for. It wraps the door edge over the lock area and reinforces a split or chewed-out bore so the existing knob lock or deadbolt can be reinstalled and hold again. It covers a 4-1/4 by 4-1/2 inch area around the lock on a 1-3/8 inch door, and it also stiffens an undamaged door against a future kick-in.
