1) Does the RAB SLEDR5 steplight come in a low-voltage DC version, or is it line voltage only?
Both. The SLEDR5 is ordered either as a line-voltage fixture rated 100-240V or as a separate DC model rated 10-50V DC, and the two are different part numbers. Line voltage models are SLEDR5 (5000K bronze), SLEDR5N (4000K), SLEDR5Y (3000K) and the W-suffix white versions. DC models carry a DC in the number: SLEDR5DC, SLEDR5NDC, SLEDR5YDC and the DCW white versions. You cannot switch one to the other in the field, so pick the voltage before you order.
2) What color temperatures and finishes can I get on the RAB 5-inch round LED steplight?
Three color temperatures and two finishes. CCT options are 3000K (Y suffix), 4000K (N suffix) and 5000K (no CCT suffix). Finishes are bronze (no suffix) and white (W suffix). All six CCT and finish combinations are available in both line voltage and DC, which is how the family gets to 12 part numbers. Note the fixture is a fixed-CCT order, not a field switch on the back of the housing: 4000K bronze line voltage is SLEDR5N, 4000K white DC is SLEDR5NDCW.
3) How many RAB SLEDR5 steplights can I put on one 120V circuit?
At 120V each fixture draws 0.1A, so the load is small. A 15A circuit loaded to the usual 80 percent continuous limit of 12A would carry well over a hundred fixtures on current alone, which means the practical limit is your wiring method, voltage drop over the run, and breaker count rather than the fixtures. Draw drops as voltage rises: 0.06A at 208V and 0.05A at 240V.
4) Will the RAB SLEDR5 run on 277V?
No. The line voltage version is rated 100-240V, and current is published at 120V, 208V and 240V only. On a 277V lighting branch common in commercial buildings you need a fixture rated for that voltage, or a step-down transformer feeding the 100-240V model.
5) Can I use the DC version of this steplight on a 12V landscape lighting transformer?
Yes. The DC SLEDR5 models are rated 10-50V DC, which covers a 12V or 24V landscape supply as well as 48V systems. Because the window is that wide, voltage drop on a long low-voltage run is less likely to drop the fixture out than it would be on a narrow 12V-only product. For AC landscape transformers, use the 100-240V model instead.
6) Is the LED in this RAB steplight replaceable, and what kind of maintenance should a property manager expect?
There is no lamp to change. The SLEDR5 is an integrated LED fixture rated for 100,000 hours, so maintenance is cleaning the lens and eventually replacing the whole fixture rather than relamping. At dusk-to-dawn use of roughly 4,000 hours a year that rated life works out past 20 years of service, which is why it gets specified on stair and egress paths where access for relamping is awkward.
7) Which color temperature should I pick for apartment stairwells versus a hotel entry walk?

For hospitality entries, patios and guest-facing hardscape, 3000K (SLEDR5Y series) matches the warmer tone usually already on the building. 8) I need to match steplights already installed in bronze on my building. Can I order just the bronze ones?
Yes, bronze is the base finish across the whole SLEDR5 line and is available in all three color temperatures, line voltage or DC. Bronze part numbers carry no W: SLEDR5, SLEDR5N, SLEDR5Y on 100-240V, and SLEDR5DC, SLEDR5NDC, SLEDR5YDC on 10-50V DC. The W versions are the white ones, so if you are matching existing bronze, avoid any number ending in W.
9) Is a 5W steplight enough light for a commercial stairway?
A 5W LED steplight is an accent and wayfinding fixture, not a general illumination source. It marks the step and puts a pool of light on the tread or path directly below it, which is what a stair or walkway layout needs when fixtures are spaced along the run.
