1) Will the RCI 6505 electric strike work with a 5/8 inch latch projection?
That's exactly what the 6505 is cut for. The strike is built around a 5/8 inch latch throw, and the low-profile version accommodates 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch latch projections while the standard profile accommodates 3/4 inch. Both profiles are orderable on the 6505, so measure the projection of the latchbolt coming out of your existing lock before you pick one.
