ROFU 21050US28 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) I need a bracket to mount the magnet to the header, not the armature to the door. What should I look at?
The ROFU 21050 is an armature mounting bracket, so it carries the armature plate on the door leaf side of an 8512/8612 installation rather than hanging the magnet body. If the job needs the magnet itself supported off the frame, header-side hardware is the right family: the Dortronics 1000 Series bracket mounts 1000 maglocks to a top jamb, and the Dortronics 1100 Series header mounting angle (L) bracket is an 8-1/4 inch piece for that purpose.
2) Is the ROFU 21050 an electrified part I need to wire?
No. The 21050 is a non-electronic mechanical bracket for commercial electromagnetic lock installations, so it needs no wiring of its own. The comparable Dortronics and Locknetics bracket offerings are likewise mounting hardware for maglocks, such as the MG Series L/U/Z bracket and the 1100 Series header mounting angle bracket. All power and control connections stay at the magnet body.
