1) Will the ROFU 8106HD maglock work on an outswing door?
No. The 8106HD handle maglock is for inswing doors only. On an outswing opening you need a shear lock or a surface magnet set up for outswing with an appropriate bracket, not this one. The armature on the 8106 is enclosed inside a door handle, which is what limits it to inswing applications.
2) What happens to the ROFU 8106 maglock when the power goes out?
It unlocks. The 8106HD is fail-safe, so it releases the instant power is cut, with no residual magnetism holding the armature. The ROFU 8106 is a straight fail-safe electromagnet that releases instantly when power is cut, with no built-in egress delay. For an opening that requires a timed delay before release, the Camden CX-DE1200 Series Single Door Exit Watch Delayed Egress Magnetic Lock is the delayed egress product to look at. It is a single door unit, so a pair needs two or a different configuration. Note that the CX-DE1200 is not fire rated, so confirm the opening's rating requirement before you spec it.
6) What voltage and current does the ROFU 8106HD maglock draw?
Dual voltage, 12 or 24 VDC, field selectable on the unit, so one part covers either bus. Current draw is 500 mA at 12 VDC and 250 mA at 24 VDC per magnet. Size your power supply off that, and double it for the 8106HD-2-B two-magnet assembly.
7) Does the ROFU 8106 maglock report door position back to the access control panel?
