1) Will the Sargent 25-RO arm fit any door closer, or only the 1431 Series?
The 25-RO wrought arm assembly is built for Sargent 1431 Series door closers only. It is not a universal replacement arm, so if the closer body on the door is a different series or another brand, this arm won't mount to it. Check the stamping on the closer body before ordering.
2) Do I need to order a left-hand or right-hand version of the Sargent 25-RO closer arm?

Each of those is tied to its own closer series, so match the arm to the closer body already on the door.
7) Can I use the Sargent 25-RO as a parallel arm with a dead stop to protect the wall?
The Sargent 25-RO is a standard wrought arm for 1431 Series closers, suitable for standard and top jamb applications; it is not a dead stop parallel arm. Where the opening needs the arm itself to stop the door, the Falcon SC60A-3049DS is a hold-open dead stop parallel arm assembly for the SC60A Series. If you only need parallel arm mounting without the stop, the LCN 1260-3077 is a regular arm supplied with a parallel arm bracket for the 1260 Series. All three mount to different closer bodies, so the closer on the door decides which one you can buy.
8) What comes in the Sargent 25-RO arm kit, or do I have to buy the hardware separately?
