Yes. This key locking spy-proof dial is built for Group 2 and 2M safe locks, which covers the common mechanical combination locks used on commercial safes and gun safes. It is not intended for Group 1 or electronic locks.

If the safe already runs a Group 2 or 2M mechanical lock and the door is 3.406 inches thick or less, the dial swaps at the dial and ring without touching the lock body. What you do need to confirm is spindle length for your door and that the replacement dial is splined on 50 to match how you set your combination.

The dial is splined on 50, meaning the dial ring and spindle index at the 50 position rather than at zero. That matters when you reassemble: line the dial up on 50 when seating it on the spindle or your combination will read off by the amount you're out of index.

The key lock in the dial blocks the dial from turning until it's unlocked with the key. It's a second layer on top of the combination, so a facility can leave a lock on day combination and still stop anyone from dialing it.
