The S11263 is rated for damp locations and listed for indoor/outdoor use, with an IP20 rating on the strip itself. That combination means a covered, protected spot only, a soffit, a covered porch ceiling, a canopy. IP20 gives no protection against water ingress, so anywhere it could take direct rain, sprinkler spray, or standing moisture is the wrong application. For an exposed run you need a wet-location rated strip instead.

No driver, no transformer, no 24V power supply. The S11263 runs on 120 volt line power at 60Hz and terminates in a plug, so it goes straight into a standard receptacle. That is the main difference from the low-voltage tape light a contractor is used to, where you have to size and locate a driver. Plan the run so a receptacle is within reach of the cord, because there is no driver location to work around.

RGBW means it does both. Color from the RGB channels, plus a dedicated white channel that is tunable from 3000K warm white through 6500K daylight, selectable rather than fixed. So the same strip covers accent color for a lobby or seasonal display and normal task white under a cabinet the rest of the year. Wattage is not selectable; it is a fixed 20 watt strip.

Title 24 compliant, yes, which is what an institutional or multi-family spec in California will be checking for. It is also cETLus listed, giving you both US and Canadian recognition on the same part number, so one SKU covers work on either side of the border.

Mounting is double coated 3M tape 9080A, factory applied to the back of the strip, so nothing extra is needed for a clean, dry, smooth surface. At 0.47 inch wide and 0.12 inch thick the strip tucks into a cove, under a cabinet, or behind a valance without a channel. Rough, porous, or dusty surfaces are where 3M tape lets go over time, so clean and degrease the substrate first, or run it in an aluminum channel.

No hub and no bridge. Starfish is built into the strip and talks over the building's existing Wi-Fi, which is why the S11263 ships as a plug-in 120V product with nothing else in the chain. For a property manager that means a unit can be commissioned without touching the electrical or adding a panel device. It is also FCC compliant and RoHS compliant.

The S11263 is dimmable, but dimming is handled through the Starfish smart controls, not a wall dimmer, because the strip plugs into a receptacle rather than wiring to a switch leg. Putting a plug-in smart product downstream of a TRIAC dimmer is a common cause of flicker and dropped connectivity. Leave the circuit at full line voltage and dim from the app or scene control.

Rated life is 25,000 hours on the integrated LED. Run 12 hours a day in a lobby or corridor that is roughly 5.7 years before the maintenance line. The LEDs are integrated, not lamps in sockets, so at end of life the strip is replaced as an assembly rather than relamped, which is the number to plan around on an MRO schedule.

The strip comes in white with a plastic base material. On a white ceiling, white cove, or white cabinet underside it disappears when off, which is the point of a 0.47 inch wide profile. There is one finish, so there is no black or clear option to specify at order.
