SATCO Lighting S11643 12.5W LED Downlight Retrofit, 5-6in, 3000K, 120V, Dimmable, White Finish

The S11643 is built to drop into both 5 inch and 6 inch recessed housings, which is why it covers two can sizes with one part. The trim measures 7.36 inches in diameter and 1.97 inches deep, so the flange overlaps a 5 or 6 inch aperture and the body sits up inside the can. Check that your ceiling has 1.97 inches of clear depth above the opening plus room for the socket adapter and the housing wiring.

Wet location rated, so a shower or tub enclosure and a covered exterior soffit are within its rating, provided the recessed housing itself is rated for that location. Note that Satco lists the fixture as an indoor product, and the can it goes into governs as much as the trim does. cULus Classified.

3000K is warm white, a step cooler than the 2700K of a traditional incandescent and noticeably warmer than 4000K neutral. It is the common choice for residential corridors, apartment interiors, and hospitality spaces. The color temperature on this one is fixed, not field selectable, so every unit you order will read identically, which is the point when you are standardizing a hundred openings. If your building is already 2700K or 4000K, order that temperature instead rather than mixing.

Title 24 compliant, per Satco. That matters on California permitted work where recessed downlights in residential spaces have to come off an approved list. It is also FCC compliant, which covers the driver's radio interference.

Rated for 35,000 hours. On a corridor running roughly 12 hours a day that is about eight years of service, and on a 24/7 stairwell about four. The housing is die-cast aluminum, which is doing heat sink duty for the LED, so keep insulation off the body unless the can itself is IC rated.

Fixed on both counts. There is no wattage selector and no CCT switch on the back, so what you order is what gets installed: 12.5 watts, 900 lumens, 3000K. For a spec-driven job that is an advantage, because nobody can flip a switch on the fixture and put the wrong color in a finished space. If you want field selectability for a mixed building, you need a different Satco model.

Ceiling mounted into a recessed housing. It is a retrofit insert with a screw base adapter, not a self-contained surface fixture, so there has to be an existing can with a lampholder for it to go into. If your ceiling has no recessed housing, you need a canless wafer-style downlight or a surface mount fixture instead.

White, round, in a plain utility trim. It is a flat-appearance retrofit rather than a decorative baffle or reflector trim, which suits corridors, back of house, garages, and rental turns where you want the ceiling to disappear rather than make a statement. White is the only finish offered on it.
