1) Can I use the Satco S11833 downlight in a shower, over a tub, or on a covered exterior soffit?
Wet location rated, so a shower or a tub enclosure is fine electrically. It is classified as an indoor product, so use it inside the building envelope rather than on an open exterior soffit. It is cULus certified and classified.
2) How do I set the color temperature on the Satco S11833, and do I have to pick one when I order?
Color temperature is selected at the fixture, not at the order. One part number covers 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K, so you stock a single SKU and set warm white in apartments and 4000K or 5000K in back-of-house or garage areas. Wattage is fixed at 7W, not selectable. Setting instructions are in Satco's sheet for S11833.
3) Does the Satco S11833 meet California Title 24 for a new residential job?
No. The S11833 is not Title 24 compliant, so it will not satisfy a California Title 24 lighting requirement on new construction or a permitted alteration. For work outside that scope it is cULus certified and classified, FCC compliant and RoHS compliant.
