SATCO Lighting S39716 7W LED Downlight Retrofit, 4in, 5000K, 120V, Dimmable

The S39716 carries a Wet location rating, so it can go in a shower or above a tub. Satco lists it as an indoor product, so for a covered soffit or any exterior position you should spec a fixture rated for outdoor use instead.

At 7 watts it puts out 600 lumens, which is in the range of a 50W incandescent flood rather than a 65W. Color is fixed 5000K daylight, so it reads much cooler and brighter to the eye than the warm lamps it's replacing. For corridors and utility spaces that's usually what managers want; in units where the other cans are 2700K or 3000K it will not match.

Title 24 compliant, and it's cULus Certified and cULus Classified. It's also RoHS compliant and FCC compliant, which covers the specification checklist for most institutional and multi-family submittals.

White is the only trim finish offered. The housing and trim are thermoplastic (PBT), not metal, and the whole unit weighs 0.33 lb, so it hangs off the socket adapter and torsion clips without loading the ceiling.

Rated 50,000 hours. The LED is integrated, so there's no lamp to change: at end of life the whole retrofit unscrews from the medium socket and a new one goes in, which is why property managers standardize on one model across a building.
