1) Can I use this LED A19 in an enclosed ceiling fixture or a glass dome?
Yes, it is an enclosed rated lamp, so trapped heat in a closed dome or jelly jar will not void its use. It also burns in any position, base up, base down, or horizontal, so it works in a ceiling can or a table lamp without derating.
2) Is the Satco S12418 A19 rated for outdoor fixtures and wet locations?
It carries a Wet location rating and is listed for both indoor and outdoor use, so it can go in exterior porch fixtures, coach lights, and other lamp holders exposed to rain. At 120V 60Hz only, so do not put it on a low voltage or 277V circuit.
3) Is this bulb dimmable, and will it work in a three-way lamp?
Dimmable, yes. Three-way, no. The S12418 is a single-level dimmable lamp, so in a three-way socket it will only light at one output level. For three-way table lamps you need a lamp specifically built as three-way.
4) Why would I spec a 90 CRI bulb instead of a standard LED for a hotel or retail space?
90 CRI means colors render close to natural light, which matters where people judge paint, fabric, food, or skin tone, think hospitality guest rooms, retail display, healthcare exam areas, and leasing offices. Most commodity LED A19 lamps sit around 80 CRI. The S12418 pairs that 90 CRI with a 5000K daylight tone and a clear glass lens, so the filament is visible and the light is crisp rather than warm.
5) This is a clear glass filament bulb. Will it glare in an open fixture?
It is a clear lens over an LED filament, so the filament itself is visible and the lamp looks like a vintage bulb rather than a frosted globe. In an exposed socket or open-bottom fixture the filament will be directly in view, which some tenants read as glare. If you want diffusion, choose a frosted A19 instead. The 320 degree beam spread means it throws light nearly all the way around, which is what you want in a shade or a bare socket.
6) Does this Satco LED A19 qualify for DLC utility rebates?
