No. The S28987 is a Type B ballast bypass lamp, so the existing HID ballast has to be removed or bypassed and line voltage wired directly to the socket. It accepts 100-277 volt input, so it works on 120V, 208V, 240V or 277V circuits once the ballast is out of the picture. Leaving a ballast in line will damage the lamp.
2) How do I set the wattage and color temperature on the Satco S28987 LED lamp?
Wattage and color are both selectable on the lamp itself. PowerQuick lets you pick 20, 40 or 60 watts, and ColorQuick lets you pick 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. That means one part number covers several lamp positions across a property instead of stocking separate SKUs for each output and color.
