The S39904 is a Type B ballast bypass lamp, so the fluorescent ballast has to be removed and line voltage wired directly to the sockets. It will not run on an existing electronic or magnetic ballast. Satco allows either single-ended or double-ended wiring on this tube, so it works with whichever socket arrangement your electrician sets up.

3000K is a warm white. It reads well in hospitality spaces, lobbies, multi-family common areas and residential corridors. For offices, schools and warehouses, most specs call for 4000K or 5000K, so if you are standardizing a commercial office floor the S39904's 3000K will look noticeably yellower than typical. Match the color temperature across a whole space, mixing 3000K and 4000K in one ceiling is immediately visible.

2100 lumens at 17 watts. A standard 32W F32T8 fluorescent is typically rated around 2800 to 2950 lumens initial, so expect somewhat less raw output from this tube while drawing roughly half the wattage. In a bare or lensed strip the LED's directional output usually makes up a good part of the difference, but on a four-lamp troffer over a work surface, check your footcandle target before swapping one for one.

Not in the same fixture, and label anything you convert. The S39904 is Type B, meaning the fixture carries line voltage straight to the sockets with the ballast removed. A plug-and-play (Type A) tube installed later into that rewired fixture is the wrong lamp for the circuit. For a fleet of buildings, pick one approach per fixture and mark the fixture so the next tech knows what it is wired for.
