No. The S9807 is a non-dimming lamp. Put it on a dimmer circuit and you can expect flicker, buzz, or no start at the low end. If the fixture or string is on a dimmer, either leave the dimmer at full or spec a dimmable S14 filament lamp instead. It's also not a three-way lamp, so it won't step on a three-way socket.

Both are fine. Burning position is universal, so base-up, base-down, or horizontal all work. It's also an enclosed rated lamp, which means it can go inside a sealed sign cabinet or a closed globe without the heat trap shortening its life. That's the detail that disqualifies a lot of cheap LED filament lamps for sign work.

Close, yes. The S9807 runs 2700K, the warm white point that reads the same as a standard incandescent, and it uses an LED filament behind clear glass so you see the same visible filament glow rather than a diffused white blob. CRI is 80+. Mixed in a run with older incandescent S14s it will look slightly cleaner but the color temperature won't fight them.

Beam spread is 280 degrees, so it throws light nearly all the way around the lamp with only a small shadow at the base end. For a marquee sign or a string light where the bulb is viewed from every angle, that's what you want. A narrow-beam LED replacement will look dark from the sides in the same socket.

The S9807 is rated 15,000 average hours. Run dusk to dawn at roughly 12 hours a day, that's several years of service per lamp versus the few months a typical incandescent S14 gives in the same string, which is the whole case for switching a large patio or marquee over at once rather than lamp by lamp.

Satco lists the S9807 as lawful for sale in California, and the lamp is FCC compliant, so it won't put RF noise onto a circuit shared with sound or POS equipment. It is not DLC listed, so if your utility rebate program requires a DLC-qualified product, this lamp won't qualify for it.

Fixed. The S9807 is not a CCT selectable lamp, so there is no switch on the base and every lamp out of the carton is 2700K. For a property manager standardizing a building, that's an advantage: no chance of a maintenance tech setting one lamp to 4000K and leaving a cool spot in the run.
