Schaub 482 12" Center to Center Haniburton Appliance Pull

The Schaub 482 Haniburton pull is drilled on 12 inch center-to-center, so it drops onto an existing pair of holes bored 12 inches apart. Overall length is 12-15/16 inches, so it only overhangs the mounting centers by about half an inch on each end. If your current holes are anything other than 12 inches apart, you would be re-drilling the panel.

Back-to-back means two pulls mounted opposite each other through the same bored holes, one on each face of the panel. Order it for a swinging pantry or pass-through door where both sides get a grip. For a refrigerator, freezer, or dishwasher panel, where only the outside face is handled, order the standard non back-to-back version. The 482 is offered both ways in all six finishes.

The Omnia 1968/102 modern cabinet pull is forged solid brass, the same base material as the Schaub 482, which is solid brass as well. The difference is scale and spacing: the Schaub 482 is an appliance pull at 12 inch center to center with a 12-15/16 inch overall length, while the Omnia 1968/102 is a cabinet pull with 4 inch center to center spacing. For a refrigerator or dishwasher panel you need the 12 inch spacing of the 482; the Omnia works on a door or drawer front where a 4 inch drilling is what the cabinet is bored for.

The Schaub 482 stands 1-7/8 inch off the face. Where that is too far into a walkway or too close to an adjacent wall, the Omnia 1969 and Omnia 1971 modern cabinet pulls sit at 1-3/16 inch projection and the Omnia 1970 at 1-1/4 inch, all forged solid brass. Those are cabinet pulls rather than appliance pulls, so check the drilling on the door before you switch.

Six: Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Matte Black, Polished Nickel, Satin Brass, and Unlacquered Brass. Unlacquered Brass is the one to think twice about on a kitchen job. It has no protective coating, so it darkens and patinas with handling. If a property manager wants every unit in a building to look the same in year three, pick one of the coated finishes instead.

Solid brass through the body, not zinc die-cast with a brass plate. On a 12 inch appliance pull that distinction is structural, not cosmetic: the grip spans a foot between two posts and gets pulled on by a full-weight refrigerator door several times a day. Solid brass also means the Unlacquered Brass version is the base material showing, so it patinas rather than wearing through a coating.

The Orca Hardware CK-15030 Bachelor Collection round cabinet knob and the CK-16030 round ring cabinet knob are both 1-1/4 inch diameter cabinet knobs, and the CK-17025 Blackcomb Collection square knob is 25mm diameter. Any of the three mounts on a single hole, where the Schaub 482 needs two holes at 12 inch center to center.

The Orca Hardware CK-12001 is a T-pull bar with a 2 inch bar width, built in steel and offered in satin nickel. The Schaub 482 is solid brass and is offered in satin nickel, polished chrome, matte black, polished nickel, satin brass and unlacquered brass. If the run has to match brass hardware elsewhere in the kitchen or you want unlacquered brass that will patina, the 482 carries those finishes; the Orca is the steel option in satin nickel.

Plan on 12-15/16 inches of clear run along the axis of the pull, since that is the overall length against 12 inch mounting centers. The posts sit on a 15/16 inch base, so you also need that much clear width on the panel face at each mounting point, plus 1-7/8 inches of standoff in front of the door before the grip meets anything. On a narrow freezer column those three numbers are what decide whether the pull goes on vertically or not at all.

The Emtek Art Deco cabinet pull and the Emtek Alexander cabinet pull, both in the Schaub collection, carry decorative profiles rather than the transitional Haniburton line of the Schaub 482. Both Emtek parts are cabinet knobs or pulls, so they suit door and drawer fronts; the Schaub 482 is the appliance pull with 12 inch center to center spacing for a panel-front refrigerator or dishwasher.
