Schaub 852 3" Center to Center Symphony Cabinet Pull

Tapped for 8/32 machine screws, which is the standard cabinet hardware thread in North America. If your existing pulls used 8/32 screws and your door or drawer front is the same thickness, the old screws thread right in. Thicker fronts (an applied panel or a thick slab drawer face) need longer 8/32 screws, and those are ordered separately.

The Trimco 553 drawer pull is the closest match on hole spacing, since the 553 series is offered at 3 inch center to center, the same drilling the Schaub 852 uses. The 852 differs in character: it is a solid brass Symphony Inlays pull with an inlay collection of Imperial Shell, Mother of Pearl and Tiger Penshell, while the Trimco 553 is a plain drawer pull. If existing cabinet fronts are already bored on 3 inch centers, either drops into the same two holes.

The Omnia 1968/102 modern cabinet pull is forged solid brass with 4 inch center to center spacing, so it lands on existing 4 inch bores without redrilling. The Trimco 562 drawer pull covers 3-1/2 inch, 4 inch and 96mm center to center options for the same reason. The Schaub 852 is fixed at 3 inch center to center, so on a 4 inch bored front it would require new holes and plugged old ones.

No - the Orca Hardware CK-15030 and CK-16030 Bachelor Collection pieces are cabinet knobs at 1-1/4 inch diameter, and the CK-17025 Blackcomb is a square cabinet knob at 25mm diameter. A knob mounts on a single screw hole. The Schaub 852 is a two-hole cabinet pull on 3 inch centers with an 8/32 thread screw size, so swapping a knob onto a drawer front bored for the 852 leaves an open second hole.

Projection is 3/4 inch off the face of the door, with a 1 inch base. That is a shallow-profile pull, fine for bare hands and a normal grip, but tight if the crew is working in gloves or the cabinet sits in a heavy-traffic commercial galley. For more knuckle room, an Omnia 1970 or 1971 modern pull carries a larger projection, 1-1/4 inch and 1-3/16 inch respectively.

The Symphony Inlays style sets natural shell into a solid brass body. Three combinations are made: Imperial Shell and Mother of Pearl, both on polished nickel, and Tiger Penshell on Estate Dover. Because the inlay is natural shell, colour and figure vary piece to piece, so order a run for one room in one go rather than adding a few later.

The body is solid brass, which holds up to repeated pulls better than plated zinc or hollow steel. The catch for a property manager is the shell inlay: it is a decorative natural material on a 3/4 inch projection pull, better suited to a model unit or a boutique hospitality fitout than to turn-and-burn rental cabinets. For high-turnover units, a plain solid brass bar such as the Deltana SBP35 or a steel T-pull like the Orca CK-12001 takes abuse with nothing to chip.

On the same 3 inch drilling, the Trimco 553 Series drawer pull is a plain 3 inch center-to-center option. Trimco's 562 Series moves to 3-1/2 inch, 4 inch, and 96mm spacings, so it would need new holes. The Schaub 852 projects 3/4 inch from the face. The Omnia 1969 and Omnia 1971 modern cabinet pulls are forged solid brass at 1-3/16 inch projection, and the Omnia 1970 is forged solid brass at 1-1/4 inch projection. Projection is the number that decides finger clearance and whether a pull clashes with an adjacent appliance handle or a door swinging into it, so in tight galley runs the 3/4 inch reach of the 852 keeps the front shallower.

They are related but not the same part. Emtek offers Schaub Collection cabinet pulls including the 8405 Select in the Emtek SELECT series, plus the Alexander, Art Deco and Bar series, all catalogued as cabinet knob/pull. The Schaub 852 is specifically the Symphony Inlays style with the Imperial Shell, Mother of Pearl and Tiger Penshell inlay collection, 4-1/2 inch by 1-1/4 inch overall. If a designer specified the inlay look, the Emtek Schaub Collection series will not reproduce it - order the 852 by part number.

The Schaub 852 is built in Polished Nickel with Imperial Shell, Polished Nickel with Mother of Pearl, and Estate Dover with Penshell. If a run has to match satin nickel already on the job, the Orca Hardware CK-12001 T-pull bar is supplied in satin nickel. Note the difference in what you get: the 852 pairs a metal finish with an inlay material, so the finish choice also sets the shell color on the face.

No handing to call out. The 852 is a symmetrical pull on 3 inch centers, so it mounts horizontally on a drawer or vertically on a door with no left or right version. The only choice on the order is the finish and inlay pairing.

The Deltana SBP35 is a heavy-duty solid brass square bar pull at 3-1/2 inch, and the Orca Hardware CK-12001 T-pull bar is steel with a 2 inch bar width in satin nickel. Both are one-piece bar forms with no inlay surface. The Schaub 852 is solid brass carrying a Symphony Inlays face in Imperial Shell, Mother of Pearl or Tiger Penshell - an inlaid surface that reads as residential and decorative. Property managers standardizing across many units usually pick the bar form; the 852 suits model units and higher-finish millwork.
