Schlage 09-403 Rose, Inside w/Mouting Plate and Screws, L Series Lever

The 09-403 is the inside rose for a Schlage L Series mortise lever lock, and it ships with the mounting plate and screws. That is the trim ring that sits against the door face under the lever on the room side, not the lock body and not the lever itself. If the lock is working and the rose is scratched, bent, or mismatched after a finish change, this is the part that swaps out. Anything wrong with the latch, the cylinder, or the lever handle is a different part.

Rose design has to match what is already on the door, and the 09-403 comes in five: A, AVA, B, C, and MER. They are different shapes, so an A rose will not look right beside a C rose on the next opening. Pull the existing rose off, or match it against the lever design the lock was originally ordered with, before you pick.

These roses are finish specific, and the 09-403 is offered in 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 609 antique brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 619 satin nickel, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome, 629 bright stainless, 630 satin stainless, and 643E aged bronze. Order by the BHMA number stamped or specified on the lock rather than by the finish name, since satin chrome and satin nickel read very similar in a photo and not at all the same on a door.

Inside. The 09-403 is the interior rose and it includes the mounting plate and the screws to attach it, so nothing extra is needed on that side. The outside of the opening takes a different rose part, so a job that needs both faces done takes two part numbers.

Not one number, no. The 09-403 breaks out by rose design and by finish, five designs across eleven finishes, so a stocking kit has to cover each combination in service in the building. Most portfolios settle on one design and one or two finishes, in which case a small shelf stock of that pairing covers the fleet. If a wing was specified differently, that wing needs its own line.
