Schlage 35-009 Everest 6-Pin Key Blank

The 35-009 Everest key blank is stocked in seven Everest keyways: C123, C124, C125, C135, C145, C234 and C235. You order the blank in the same keyway family as the cylinder it has to work in, so pull the keyway marking off your existing Everest key or cylinder before you pick. A blank cut on the wrong keyway section will not enter the plug at all, regardless of the bitting.

They ship 0-bitted, meaning uncut. The blade is blank and has to be cut to your bitting on a code machine or duplicated from an existing key before it will operate anything. That is what you want if you are keeping a keying record in house or having a locksmith cut to code; it is not a key you can hand to a tenant out of the box.

No. The 35-009 is an Everest blank and it fits the Schlage Everest family of cylinders only. Everest blades carry an undercut side milling that classic Schlage C section plugs do not read, and the classic C blank will not enter an Everest plug either. If your cylinders are conventional Schlage C, you need a C section blank, not this one.

Six pin. The 35-009 blade is cut for 6-pin Everest cylinders, so it is the blank to use on 6-pin mortise and rim cylinders and 6-pin bored lock plugs. If your building is standardized on 5-pin Everest, a 6-pin blank is the wrong blade length for that system and the cuts will not line up on the plug.

Order the blanks in the keyway your building already uses, then set the keying option to KA (keyed alike) if every key has to operate the same cylinders, or KD (keyed different) if each unit gets its own. There is also a key code field on the order, so if you already have the bitting on record for the existing system you can pass it through and get keys that match what is in the doors. Keep the keyway consistent across the property, mixing C123 and C234 on the same site defeats the point.

Nickel silver. That is the standard blade material for commercial key blanks because it cuts cleanly on a duplicator and resists the bending and wear a key takes on a maintenance ring or a tenant keychain. For a property manager cutting a batch of unit keys or a locksmith keeping stock on the truck, it is the material you want over plated brass.

Commercial. Everest is Schlage's commercial keying platform, and these blanks are stocked for institutional and multi-family work where keys get cut in volume and tracked against a keying schedule. A residential Schlage lock off the shelf will normally be a classic C keyway and will not take this blade.

Non-handed. A key blank has no left or right version, so one part number covers every door on the job. All that matters is that the keyway section and the pin count match the cylinder you are keying to.
