1) Will the Schlage AL53 entrance lever fit a 1-3/4 inch door?
Yes. The AL53 covers 1-3/8 to 1-7/8 inches (35 mm to 48 mm) as standard, with 2 inches (51 mm) available as an option. That takes in the 1-3/4 inch commercial door and the thinner 1-3/8 inch interior doors still common in older buildings, so the same lock handles both without a special order.
2) My doors are prepped for a 2-3/8 inch backset. Can I still use a Schlage AL53?
