    Both. That is the range Schlage states for the ALX chassis, and 1-3/4 inch is the usual commercial thickness while 1-3/8 inch shows up on older interior work.

    8) Is a dummy lever the same as a passage lever?
    No. The Schlage ALX10 is a working passage latch - a spring latch retracts when either lever is turned, so the door latches shut and the lever operates it. A dummy is fixed trim with no latch at all; it is pulled, not turned.
