Schlage Commercial B202-671 Rose & Turn without Holdback, B250

It's the interior trim set for a Schlage B250 deadbolt: the rose (the round plate that sits against the door face) plus the thumbturn you rotate to throw the bolt. It is not the deadbolt itself and not the lock body. If the bolt still works but the turn piece is loose, broken, or the finish is worn, this is the part you order. The version listed here is the no-holdback turn, so the turn returns freely rather than holding in a retracted position.

The B202-671 turn and rose is specified for the B250. Buy it against a B250 deadbolt; for any other Schlage deadbolt series, match the trim part number to that series rather than assuming this one crosses over. Schlage deadbolt trim is series specific, so a turn that looks the same can have a different spindle or rose engagement.

Not necessarily. When the bolt mechanism still throws with a key or a screwdriver blade but the inside turn spins free, the failure is usually in the turn assembly, and the B202-671 rose and turn for the B250 is a direct replacement for that piece. Order it in the same finish as the rest of the trim on that door.

A holdback turn can be left in a position that keeps the bolt held back so the door won't lock, which property managers use during move-ins or when a space is open all day. The B202-671 is the non-holdback version: the bolt is either thrown or retracted, with no way to disable it from the inside turn. Order by the BHMA finish number stamped on or specified for the existing B250, not by eye. These parts are finish specific, so a 626 satin chrome turn on a 626 lock matches, while satin chrome next to satin brass will not.

This turn and rose is a B250 part, so it standardizes across that portion of the fleet, and picking a single finish (626 satin chrome is the usual commercial default) keeps a stock of one part number on the shelf for turn failures. Openings on a different Schlage deadbolt series need their own trim part.

The turn and rose are stainless steel and the part is specified for commercial use, which is the right call on a multi-family or office entry where the deadbolt gets thrown several times a day. Stainless also holds up better than a plated pot-metal turn on an exterior-facing unit where humidity gets at the inside trim.
