It mounts in a mini aluminum box measuring 2 in. x 2 in. x 1 in. That small footprint is what lets it tuck under a desk lip or into a reception counter kneespace without eating up usable room.

No cut-in needed. The 660 Series mini station control surface mounts, so the aluminum box fastens to the underside of a desk or counter and the wiring runs back to the lock power supply or controller. That makes it a practical retrofit for a reception desk that is already built and finished.

It is a remote release. Pressing the button at the desk breaks or makes the circuit to an electric or electronic locking device, unlocking the entrance so a visitor can be buzzed in. It is a control station only, so the lock, strike or maglock and its power supply are separate items on the order.

The 660 Series is offered two ways: a momentary action pushbutton or a maintained action toggle switch. Pick the pushbutton when you want a single buzz-in that relocks as soon as the button is let go, which is the usual reception desk setup. Pick the maintained toggle when someone needs to hold the door unlocked for a period, such as during business hours or a delivery window, and then flip it back.

The 660-T4 is a momentary SPDT pushbutton built for concealed desk application, mounted in a mini aluminum box roughly 2 in. x 2 in. x 1 in. and typically tucked under a desk to release an entrance door from a remote location. If the release needs to be seen and found in the dark rather than hidden, the Locknetics IPB-100 / IPB-100-N illuminated pushbutton is the alternative to look at, since illumination makes it a visible, user-facing control instead of a concealed one.

Stay within the 660 Series. The 660-T4 uses a momentary action pushbutton, so the locking device releases only while the button is pressed. The 660 Series is also offered with a maintained action toggle switch, which holds the circuit in position so the electric or electronic locking mechanism stays released until the switch is thrown back. Both versions surface mount in the same mini aluminum box, so the mounting work at the desk is the same either way.

Hidden. It is built for concealed desk application, mounted out of sight under the work surface so staff can reach it and visitors cannot. If you want a control the public presses, such as a wall mounted exit or request-to-exit button, the 660 is the wrong choice.

Different jobs. The 660 is a concealed, surface mounted mini station in a 2 x 2 x 1 inch aluminum box, intended to sit under a desk where staff operate it. The Locknetics IPB-100 and IPB-100-N are illuminated pushbuttons from the IPB Series, which are the visible, lit style of button you put where a user needs to see and press it. Use the 660 for staff-controlled buzz-in and an illuminated button where the control is on public display.

They are not interchangeable in the same opening without rework. The 660-T4 is supplied in a mini aluminum surface-mount box about 2 in. x 2 in. x 1 in. intended for concealed mounting under a desk, so its footprint and location suit a hidden remote release. The Locknetics IPB-100 / IPB-100-N is an illuminated pushbutton from the IPB series, a different device intended to be seen and operated at the point of use. Treat a swap between them as a change of control type and mounting location, not a like-for-like part substitution.

It is a single control station wired to one locking circuit, so plan on one 660 per opening you want to release. For a lobby with two entrances, order a station for each and label them at the desk.
