CO-200 OVERVIEW
The CO Series offers ideal solutions for customers seeking the added security and convenience of electronic access control without the cost or complexity of a fully networked system.
The CO-200 steps up significantly in functionality from CO-100 keypad programmable locks. It can be manually or computer programmed with downloads occurring at the lock via the SUS mobile app on a compatible Android device. Credential use can include 3-6 digit PIN, proximity and magnetic stripe cards; dual authentication card + PIN readers are available for extra security. More importantly, this lock offers up to 2000 users with audit capability to note the who, where and when of building or room access.
CO-200 can work in the same offline system as AD-200, CO-220 and CT5000. They can be manually programmed for basic use or managed with PC-based Schlage Express™ software. Select PACS alliance members also offer access control solutions for the CO-200 with added capability that can include lock schedules and audits. Features and capabilities will vary by system; please visit the Software Management tab for additional details.

Schlage Electronics CO-200-993S-70-KP-RHO-626-P – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Schlage CO-200 exit device trim come with a cylinder?
No cylinder ships with the CO-200 electronic exit trim. You order the cylinder prep you need: B for less cylinder taking Schlage, Falcon or competitive OEM 7-pin SFIC, J for Schlage 6-pin FSIC, L for Schlage or Falcon 6-pin KIL, or P for a Schlage standard conventional cylinder. Only the P option is a cylinder; the other three are preps you fill from your own keying system.
2) What door thickness does the Schlage CO-200 electronic trim fit?
It is built for 1-3/4 inch doors, the standard commercial thickness. The trim is field reversible, so one part number covers either hand without a returns headache on a mixed building.
3) How does the classroom/storeroom function behave on the CO-200?
Classroom/storeroom means the outside lever stays locked and a valid credential at the keypad retracts the latch for entry. Egress from the inside is always free through the exit device push bar. That is the function schools and stock rooms specify so a door is never left unsecured by someone walking away from it.
4) Will the CO-200 trim latch into my existing ANSI strike?
The standard latch is a 1-1/8 by 2-1/4 inch square corner deadlatch, and the supplied strike is an ANSI 1-1/4 by 4-7/8 inch with a 1-3/16 inch lip, no box. If your frame already carries an ANSI 4-7/8 inch strike prep, you are dropping into the same cutout.
5) Does the Schlage CO-200 need to be wired to an access control panel?
No. It is a standalone battery lock running on four AA cells, so there is no wiring, no power transfer hinge and no panel. Program it manually at the lock or with PC-based Schlage Express software, pushing downloads through the Schlage Utility Software mobile app on a compatible Android device with the SUS-A cable.
6) Is the Schlage CO-200 exit trim fire rated and code compliant for a school?
The CO Series carries ANSI/BHMA Grade 1, UL 10C, UL 294, UL Canada, FCC Part 15 and ADA. The 70 function is listed to ANSI/BHMA A156.25 full outdoor. As exit trim it meets ANSI/BHMA A156.3.
7) If the opening only needs a pull on the outside and no access control, what exit trim is used instead of the Schlage CO-200 keypad trim?
Use a dummy lever exit trim such as the Stanley Security QET120, a Grade 1 heavy-duty exit trim with a dummy lever in ANSI function 02. The Schlage CO-200 surface vertical rod exit device trim is a battery-operated electronic trim with a keypad reader, classroom/storeroom function, that controls whether the outside lever retracts the latch. The QET120 dummy lever does not retract anything - the door is exited from the push side only. Choose the CO-200 trim when credentialed re-entry is required, and the QET120 when the outside needs a fixed lever with no operation.
8) I need the exit device itself, not just the trim - what do I order alongside or instead of the Schlage CO-200 trim?
The Schlage CO-200 993S is trim only, built to mount on a surface vertical rod exit device. If you are specifying the device, the Stanley Security QED111EDX is a Grade 1 heavy-duty rim exit device with hex dogging, electric dogging and request-to-exit (RX) signalling. Note the QED111EDX is a rim device, so it pairs with rim trim rather than the surface vertical rod configuration the CO-200 993S is built for. Confirm the device type on the opening before ordering the trim.
9) How many users and audit events does the CO-200 hold?
Up to 2,000 users with an audit trail of up to 2,000 events, so you can pull who opened the door and when. Credentials can be a 3 to 6 digit PIN, and the lock supports holidays and time zones for scheduled auto lock and unlock.
10) What backset does the CO-200 surface vertical rod exit trim use?
2-3/4 inch backset, which is the usual commercial backset for Grade 1 openings. It is a heavy duty commercial trim, not a residential lock.
11) Which lever styles and finishes can I get on the Schlage CO-200 trim to match my other doors?
Six lever styles: Athens, Latitude, Longitude, Rhodes, Sparta and Tubular. Seven finishes: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, 619 satin nickel, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome and 643E aged bronze. Match the lever and finish already on your corridor doors and the opening reads as one set.
12) Can the CO-200 be used with other Schlage offline locks in the same system?
Yes. CO-200 runs in the same offline system as AD-200, CO-220 and CT5000, managed through Schlage Express software, and it works with the same credential used on the building perimeter. Select PACS alliance members also support the CO-200 with lock schedules and audits.
13) What is the difference between the CO-100 and the CO-200?
The CO-100 is keypad programmable only. The CO-200 adds computer programming, credential types beyond PIN (proximity and magnetic stripe cards), optional dual authentication card plus PIN, up to 2,000 users and a full audit trail. If you need to know who went through the door, you need the CO-200.
14) I just need a dummy lever trim on my exit device, not an electronic one. What else is there?
If there is no access control requirement, mechanical dummy exit trim is the simpler buy. The Stanley Security QET120 is a Grade 1 exit trim with a dummy lever, ANSI function 02, and the QRT320 is a Grade 1 round rose dummy lever exit trim. Neither reads credentials or audits; they just pull the door. Step up to the CO-200 keypad trim only when you need controlled entry from outside.
15) Is the Stanley QRT320 exit trim an equivalent to the Schlage CO-200 electronic exit device trim?
No. The Stanley Security QRT320 is a Grade 1 round rose exit trim with a dummy lever - it dresses the outside of the door without operating the latch. The Schlage CO-200 exit device trim is an electronic standalone trim with a keypad reader in classroom/storeroom function, powered by four AA batteries and supplied less cylinder in most configurations. Both carry Grade 1, so the rating matches; the operating behavior does not.
16) For a room that needs privacy or office function rather than classroom/storeroom, what are the alternatives to the Schlage CO-200 993S keypad trim?
The CO-200 993S surface vertical rod trim is built in classroom/storeroom function, so the outside lever is locked or unlocked by credential. Stanley Security offers exit hardware listed in office/privacy/apartment function, including the QED111EDX rim exit device and the QET120 and QRT320 exit trims, all Grade 1. Decide by how the room is used: credentialed classroom/storeroom control with audit at the door, or mechanical office/privacy operation.
17) How long do the batteries last on the Schlage CO-200 and how do I know when to change them?
Up to two years of battery life from the four AA cells, with a status indicator at the lock so maintenance can spot a low pack before it strands anyone. For a property manager running a lot of openings, that indicator is what keeps battery swaps on a planned round instead of an emergency call.
18) Do the Stanley QET120 and QRT320 exit trims differ from each other when I am cross-shopping against the Schlage CO-200 trim?
Yes. Both Stanley Security trims are Grade 1 dummy lever exit trims in office/privacy/apartment function, but the QET120 is catalogued with ANSI function 02 and the QRT320 uses a round rose. The Schlage CO-200 993S differs from both in that it is an electronic keypad trim, field reversible for hand, offered in Athens, Latitude, Longitude, Rhodes, Sparta and Tubular lever styles and seven finishes from 605 Bright Brass to 643E Aged Bronze.
