1) Will the Schlage XE360 exit trim work on my Falcon 25 rim exit device?

Yes. The XE360EW25R is built for Falcon 25 rim devices. The XE360 exit trim line also covers Von Duprin 98/99 and XP98/99 rim devices and Von Duprin 22, using a modular adapter to move between them. If your opening has a rim or surface vertical rod device from a different manufacturer, this trim is not the part.

2) What door thickness and stile width does the XE360 wireless exit trim need?

1-3/4 inch doors only, with a minimum stile width of 4-1/4 inches. It's a wide stile trim, so a narrow stile aluminum storefront door will not take it. Standard commercial hollow metal and wood doors are 1-3/4 inches, so most institutional openings are fine, but measure the stile before ordering on an aluminum door.

3) Do I have to order the Schlage XE360 exit trim handed?

No. The XE360 exit trim is field reversible, so one part covers both hands. Backset, latchbolt and strike are all set by the exit device it mounts to, not by the trim, so you're specifying against the Falcon 25 device already on the door.

4) What's the difference between the I (indicator) and B (push button) versions of the XE360 exit trim?

It decides which lock functions you get. The indicator version (I) is wide stile exit trim with an interior LED indicator and runs Storeroom function only. The push button version (B) adds an interior push button with the LED and gives you Office, Privacy and Apartment functions. For apartment or privacy openings, a door position sensor is recommended. Actual function behavior also depends on the access control system managing the lock.

5) Is the XE360 wireless exit trim rated for a 3-hour fire door?

Yes. The XE360 exit trim carries UL 10C 3-hour and CAN/ULC S104 3-hour fire ratings. It also holds ANSI/BHMA A156.3-2020 Grade 1, A156.25-2023 Locked Outdoor Type, A156.5-2020, UL 294 and ULC 60839 for the access control side, plus FCC Part 15, Industry Canada, REACH, RoHS and TAA. It's ADA compliant.

6) Does the XE360 exit trim need to be wired to the door, or does it run on batteries?

Batteries. Four AA cells power the trim, with battery life up to two years, so there's no transfer hinge, power supply or door loop to run. Communication is wireless over Bluetooth Low Energy version 5 at 2.4 GHz, configured from a smartphone or tablet. It runs in No-Tour or offline access control mode rather than needing a hardwired panel connection at the opening.

7) If the batteries die or the system goes down, can I still get into the door?

Yes. A concealed key override is standard on every XE360 lock. The cylinder is a conventional 6-pin in Schlage Classic C keyway and ships with two keys, so if your property is already keyed in Classic C your locksmith can key it into the existing system.

8) Does the XE360 exit trim replace the exit device too, or just the trim?

Just the trim. The XE360EW25R is the outside lever trim that mounts to a Falcon 25 rim device already on the door, so you keep the existing panic hardware, backset, latch and strike. The Stanley Security QET120 is a Grade 1 heavy-duty exit trim with a dummy lever, ANSI function 02, so it dresses the outside of the door as a pull only and the door is entered by retracting the device from the inside or by another means. The XE360EW25R is a Grade 1 electronic exit trim with a smart Bluetooth reader running on 4 AA batteries, so it controls who gets in with credentials at the door. Choose the QET120 where the outside face only needs a lever to grab, and the XE360EW25R where each user has to be authorized and audited.

10) Is the Stanley Security QED111EDX a substitute for the Schlage Electronics XE360EW25R?

No - they are two different halves of the same opening. The QED111EDX is a Grade 1 heavy-duty rim exit device with hex dogging, electric dogging and a request-to-exit function, meaning it is the push bar mounted on the inside of the door. The XE360EW25R is exit device trim that mounts on the outside face and works with Falcon 25 rim exit devices. A door being rebuilt for credential entry generally needs both a device and trim, not one in place of the other.

11) What finishes and lever styles does the XE360EW25R exit trim come in?

Three finishes, three lever styles, in any combination: 619 Satin Nickel, 622 Matte Black and 626 Satin Chrome, each with Broadway (BRW), Latitude (LAT), Longitude-Extended (LONE) or Neptune/Sparta (NEP) levers. If you're standardizing a property, the XE360 exit trim suites with the XE360 tubular and mortise chassis so the entry doors and unit doors match.

12) Do I have to buy Allegion software to run the XE360 wireless trim?

No. The XE360 uses an open architecture, so it can be managed by Allegion software or integrated into third-party physical access control and Proptech platforms through the PACS Alliance program, and you can move between them later. It also works alongside other Schlage wireless locks including Schlage Control. Status signals reported back include battery level, door position, lock/unlock and request-to-exit. The FleX Module lets you upgrade communication type, memory and encryption without replacing the lock.

13) I just need a lever on the outside of my exit device, not an electronic reader. What should I look at instead?
