1) Can Scotch 35 green tape be used to insulate a splice, or is it only for color coding?
Scotch 35 is a 600 volt rated PVC electrical tape, so it insulates as well as it marks. The 7 mil (0.18 mm) PVC backing with rubber resin adhesive gives both electrical and mechanical protection.
