1) What voltage is Scotch 35 electrical tape rated for?
Scotch 35 vinyl tape is a 600 V primary insulating tape, intended for low voltage work. It is not rated for high voltage splices or terminations, so on medium or high voltage cable you need a proper high voltage splicing system instead. Elongation at break is 225 percent, with tensile strength of 30 N/10 mm, so it pulls down tight over lugs, split bolts and odd shapes and stays conformed rather than splitting. Adhesion to steel is 20 oz/in (2.2 N/10 mm), which is what keeps the last lap anchored on metal enclosures and fittings.
7) Is Scotch 35 tape RoHS compliant for a green building or sustainable supply spec?
The tape is RoHS compliant without exemption, referenced to 2011/65/EU in the spec data and to 2015/863/EU in the product description. Backing is PVC with a rubber based adhesive, and it is graded for professional use.
