10-32 is the standard machine screw thread used for device mounting and grounding holes in steel boxes and plaster rings, so the JSRMO3 threads into that prep. It is a machine screw, so it needs a mating thread: either a 10-32 tapped hole (such as the tapped ears in a steel device box or a threaded plate) or a separate 10-32 nut. No nut is included with the jar, and the screw will not cut its own thread in sheet steel the way a self-tapping screw does.
