Metallics JRBWS18 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is a round head screw like this going to sit flush in a countersunk hole?
No. The JRBWS18 has a round head, which seats on top of the work surface rather than pulling down into a countersink. If you need the head flush or below the surface, you want a flat head wood screw instead. Round heads are the usual pick for surface mounting straps, clamps, plates and cover hardware where the head is meant to show.
2) Do I need a Phillips or square drive bit for these Metallics brass wood screws?
Neither. The JRBWS18 takes a flat blade screwdriver, since it is a slotted head. Plan on hand driving or a slow speed driver with a slotted bit, because slotted heads cam out easily and brass is soft enough to gall if you run it fast.
3) How many screws come in a jar of Metallics JRBWS18, and is it sold loose?
It ships as a jar of 100 screws, not as individual pieces. The jar pack is the ordering unit, so quantity 1 gets you 100 of the #8 x 2 inch brass screws.
