Metallics DHD1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics DHD1 screw hook used for?
The DHD1 is a self-drilling screw hook, sold one per pack. It is used as a ceiling hook for hanging light loads such as fixture chain, cable, or signage off wood or other drillable substrate, driving its own pilot as it goes.
2) Do I need to drill a pilot hole for the Metallics DHD1 ceiling hook?
No. The DHD1 is a driller hook, meaning the threaded shank forms its own hole as it is driven, so no separate pilot drilling step is required on a drillable substrate.
3) What part number do I order for the Metallics driller ceiling hook?
Order it as Metallics DHD1. That is the manufacturer part number and the only model on the line, so there is no finish or size option to specify.
4) How many hooks come in a Metallics DHD1 pack?
One. The DHD1 is packaged as a single piece, so order a quantity to match the number of hang points on the job rather than assuming a box count.
