Metallics 350KOSG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Metallics 350KOSG knockout seal come with a gasket, or do I buy that separately?
The gasket is included. The 350KOSG ships as a seal and gasket set, so you get the closure plate and the sealing gasket together for the 3-1/2 inch opening, with no separate gasket order needed.
2) How many Metallics 350KOSG knockout seals are in a pack?
They come five to a pack. For an MRO or panel shop stocking spares, that is five 3-1/2 inch seal-and-gasket sets per order unit, so plan quantities in multiples of five rather than per piece.
3) What material is the Metallics 3-1/2 inch knockout seal made from?
Steel with a zinc plated finish. That makes it a match for standard steel enclosures and panelboards in dry indoor locations. For wet, corrosive, or washdown areas, a zinc plated steel closure is not the right pick, look to a stainless or nonmetallic sealing plug instead.
4) Can I use a knockout seal and gasket instead of a blank reducing washer on an unused 3-1/2 inch opening?
They do different jobs. A reducing washer narrows a large knockout so a smaller connector can land in it. The 350KOSG closes the 3-1/2 inch hole off entirely, and because a gasket is supplied with it, it also seals the opening against dust and drafts rather than just filling it. If you still need a conduit entry at that location, a reducer is the part you want, not this seal.
5) What part number do I order for a Metallics 3-1/2 inch knockout seal with gasket?
Order Metallics 350KOSG. That is the full manufacturer part number for the 3-1/2 inch steel, zinc plated knockout seal supplied with its gasket, five per pack. There are no finish or size options to specify on it.
