Securitron ASS Armature Split Strikes

The ASS split strike lets one Magnalock hold both leaves of a double door. Instead of mounting a magnet on each leaf, the split armature spans the meeting point so a single M32, M38, M62, M68 or M82 Magnalock secures the pair. Holding force at the door is traffic control level, not full holding force, so it suits controlled egress and traffic management rather than high security openings.

Order the split strike to match your magnet. The ASS is offered for the M32, for the M62, and for the M82. Pick the version that matches the Magnalock already on the opening, since the armature footprint is specific to the magnet series.

Yes, that is exactly what the ASS armature split strike is for. One Magnalock (M32, M38, M62, M68 or M82) plus the split strike covers both leaves, which cuts the second magnet, the second wiring run and the second header prep out of the job. The tradeoff is holding force: the pair is held at traffic control level, so if you need full holding force on each leaf, install a separate magnet per door.

The armature split strike measures 4.5 x 2.75 x 0.5 inches. Check that both leaves give you that much flat mounting area at the meeting stiles, plus clearance under the header where the magnet sits.

Steel. It is a replacement/accessory armature part for Magnalock installations, so it takes the strike face of the magnet directly.

The ASS is intended for double doors held by a single Magnalock. Specialty Magnalock applications do cover sliding doors, gates and cabinets, but the split strike's job is specifically to let one magnet secure a pair of leaves.

Securitron publishes separate installation instructions for the ASS-32, ASS-62 and ASS-82. Use the sheet that matches the magnet size you are pairing it with, since the mounting pattern differs between them.
