About Corbin Russwin

Corbin Russwin has been a leader in high-quality commercial-grade hardware targeted at commercial and institutional facilities since 1839. The company offers a broad line of premium products - cylindrical locks, mortise locks, exit devices, door closers, key systems and electronic access control hardware.

The company's story began when Henry Russell and Cornelius Erwin began manufacturing plate locks. In 1902, their company merged with P. and F. Corbin, originally founded in 1849 by Philip and Frank Corbin and Ed Doen, to form The American Hardware Corporation.

After a series of acquisitions, Emhart Corporation acquired American Hardware in 1964. Later, Black and Decker purchased the company and combined the Corbin and Russwin brands to form Corbin Russwin.

At its manufacturing facility in Berlin, Connecticut, Corbin Russwin uses industry-leading equipment and processes to manufacture products that continue to exceed the quality requirements of our customers.
