Sioux Chief 647XG2E3 1/2" FIP x 1/2" PEX No-Lead Drop Ear Elbow
The Sioux Chief 647XG2E3 is a 1/2" FIP x 1/2" PEX No-Lead drop ear elbow built for shower riser, tub spout, and other non-pressure fitting applications. Its internal 1/2" FIP thread accepts a shower arm or tub spout nipple, while the 1/2" PEX outlet connects directly into the PEX tubing run behind the wall. The drop ear body includes mounting ears so the fitting can be screwed to blocking or a stud, giving the finished shower arm or tub spout a rigid anchor point instead of relying on the tubing alone. The No-Lead construction makes this elbow suited to potable water supply lines, and it is designed as a rough-in transition fitting installed before the wall surface is closed up.
Key Features
- Trade Size: 1/2" FIP x 1/2" PEX connection sized for shower riser and tub spout rough-in runs.
- Internal FIP Thread: The female iron pipe thread side accepts a standard 1/2" shower arm or tub spout nipple for the finished trim.
- PEX Outlet: The 1/2" PEX connection ties directly into the branch supply line run behind the finished wall, keeping the transition to threaded pipe in one fitting.
- Drop Ear Mounting: Integral mounting ears let the fitting be fastened to blocking or a stud, giving the shower arm or tub spout a rigid, immovable anchor point that will not shift or work loose over time.
- No-Lead Construction: No-Lead body construction suited to potable water supply applications.
- Non-Pressure Fitting Use: Intended for shower risers, tub spouts, and similar non-pressure fitting applications rather than pressurized main runs.
- Rough-In Placement: Installed and anchored behind the wall before rough-in inspection and wall closure, ahead of trim-out.

Why Sioux Chief?
Sioux Chief builds this drop ear elbow with a No-Lead body and integral mounting ears so plumbers get a stable, wall-anchored transition from PEX tubing to a threaded shower arm or tub spout nipple. It is a straightforward, rough-in focused fitting for shower and tub installations where a secure, immovable connection point behind the finished wall matters, saving a callback if the fixture connection were left to the tubing alone. The No-Lead construction keeps it suited to potable water supply lines, and Sioux Chief packages it 50 EA per carton for rough-in crews stocking multiple bath installations.
