Sioux Chief 699RF ProPlate Fire Rated Outlet Box Frame, ABS

The Sioux Chief 699RF ProPlate Fire Rated Frame is a rough-in accessory frame designed to pair with ProPlate ice maker, lavatory, and washing machine outlet boxes. Molded from textured, paintable ABS, this frame gives installers a clean, finished opening for single-box applications like ice maker or lav box installs, while the double-frame configuration can be split apart to accommodate separated washing machine outlet boxes where two boxes are mounted independently. A chrome-plated escutcheon is available to pair with the ProPlate frame for a finished trim appearance once the wall is closed up. Packaged 10 EA per carton, the 699RF is a straightforward add-on for plumbers finishing out ProPlate box installations on new construction or remodel jobs.

Key Features

  • Single Frame Configuration: Sized for single ice maker or lavatory outlet box applications, giving a clean mounting surface around the box opening.
  • Splittable Double Frame: The double frame used for washing machine outlet box applications can be split in two to serve separated, independently mounted boxes.
  • Durable Construction: Molded from textured, paintable ABS so the frame can be color-matched or painted to blend with surrounding wall finish after installation.
  • Compatible Trim Option: A chrome-plated escutcheon is available for use with the ProPlate frame for a finished, trimmed-out look at the wall surface.
  • Rough-In Compatibility: Designed specifically to work with Sioux Chief ProPlate ice maker, lavatory, and washing machine outlet boxes used in behind-the-wall supply rough-in.
  • Contractor Packaging: Supplied 10 EA per package for efficient stocking on rough-in and remodel jobs.

Sioux Chief 699RF – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Sioux Chief 699RF ProPlate frame actually do, and is it the box itself?
The 699RF is a frame only, not an outlet box. It mounts around a Sioux Chief ProPlate ice maker, lavatory, or washing machine outlet box to give a clean, finished opening at the wall. You still order the outlet box separately.
2) Can the Sioux Chief 699RF frame be used when the two washing machine supply boxes are mounted separately?
Yes. The double frame configuration splits into two pieces, so if the hot and cold boxes are mounted independently rather than side by side, each box gets its own frame half. For a single ice maker or lav box, the single frame configuration is the one to use.
3) Can the 699RF ProPlate frame be painted to match the wall?
It is molded from textured, paintable ABS, so it can be painted or color matched to the surrounding wall finish after the wall is closed up. The texture gives paint something to grab.
4) Do I need anything else to trim out a ProPlate box besides the 699RF frame?
A chrome-plated escutcheon is offered to pair with the ProPlate frame if you want a finished metal trim look at the wall surface. The ABS frame alone is enough if you plan to paint it in. The escutcheon is a separate item from the frame.
5) What part number do I order for the Sioux Chief ProPlate fire rated frame?
Order Sioux Chief 699RF. That is the manufacturer part number for the ProPlate fire rated outlet box frame in ABS, and it is the only configuration offered under that number.
6) How is the Sioux Chief 699RF frame packaged for stocking on a job?
The 699RF ships 10 each per carton, which is how most plumbers stock it for multi-unit rough-in or remodel work rather than buying singles per opening.
7) Is the 699RF suitable for commercial and multi-family rough-in, or just residential?
Both. The ProPlate frame is used on residential and commercial supply rough-in, on new construction and remodel finish-out, wherever ProPlate ice maker, lav, or washing machine boxes are installed. It is made in the United States.
