Steel City TS901-3 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use this Steel City EMT strap on a damp or outdoor surface?
The strap is steel with a zinc plated finish, which gives it protection for normal indoor and dry-location work. Zinc plating is not the same as hot-dip galvanizing, so in wet, coastal, or corrosive locations a plated steel strap will eventually show rust. For those conditions specify a galvanized or stainless strap instead.
2) How are Steel City 1/2 inch two-hole EMT straps packaged?
Three ways: single strap (TS 901), a 3 per bag pack (TS901-3), and a 10 per bag pack (TS901-10). Single pieces suit a service call or a punch list item; the bagged counts make more sense for an MRO shelf or a rough-in where you are setting straps every few feet along a run.
